With the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to get their roster set for opening night, the biggest question remaining is what they will do with rookie Easton Cowan.
Despite impressing the coaching staff in training camp and pre-season, the Leafs’ decision-makers are maintaining that no final decision has been made regarding the 20-year-old’s spot on the opening-night roster.
Cowan was practising as the 13th forward at practice Monday, which suggests his spot to make the lineup for the start of the season is still up in the air.
Head coach Craig Berube told reporters that Cowan remains in the mix but the team hasn’t made a firm decision on him.
