Australia’s Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism, Jillian Segal, has warned the nation cannot afford to “take it slowly” in addressing the rise of antisemitic hate, calling for stronger government leadership and urgent action following recent violent protests.

Speaking to Sky News host Sharri Markson, Ms Segal said the Jewish community’s growing sense of fear and isolation had reached breaking point.

“I know when I was at synagogue over Yom Kippur, there was enormous security at the synagogue and that brought home to me that the way we are living is just unsustainable for us,” she said.
