The incoming cold front is going to send our summer-like temperatures tumbling over the next day or so, and it will also mean a good shot at rain later today and overnight for much of the Lower Peninsula and the eastern Upper Peninsula.

Scattered showers are mainly what’s being forecast. But some areas could see up to a half-inch of rain. Localized, heavy downpours are associated with this storm system. Gusty winds and even a few thunderstorms could be on tap. Severe weather is not expected, according to the National Weather Service.

These chances for rain are going to hold over into Tuesday as temperatures fall into the 60s for most of Lower Michigan and dip into the 50s for parts of the Upper Peninsula.
