WARE COUNTY, Ga. — A one-year-old child is dead and his parents in the burn unit after their car crashed and burst into flames driving down a highway in Ware County, Georgia, Sunday morning, according to investigators with the Ware County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release sent by the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the single-car crash on Georgia State Road 520 near the intersection of Manor Millwood Road, west of Waycross, around 10:17 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies learned the car was driven by a 28-year-old man with his 24-year-old wife and their one-year-old son.

Upon deputies' arrival at the crash site, it was confirmed that the child was still in the car.
