Selena Gomez, left, and Taylor Swift pose for a photo while attending the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Jan. 7, 2024.

As she gets ready to walk down the aisle herself, Taylor Swift celebrated love at best friend Selena Gomez's wedding.

A month after she said "yes" to Travis Kelce, Swift was in attendance as Gomez said "I do" to music producer Benny Blanco. On Oct. 6, Gomez shared the first photos and a video of her and Swift at the wedding ceremony.

Gomez's Instagram carousel began with a clip filmed by Swift on her phone showing the bride getting ready to walk down the aisle. Swift, wearing a floral dress, gasps and exclaims, "Oh my God" while showing Gomez with her veil, and the "Lose You to Love Me" singer says she is "so happy."

Gomez also posted a photo showing her and Swift having drinks, followed by another snap of the pair embracing at what appeared to be the wedding reception. Gomez revealed the behind-the-scenes look in honor of the release of Swift's latest album, "The Life of a Showgirl."

"In honor of 'SHOWGIRL' .. blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator!" she wrote. "I love you @taylorswift forever and always."

Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, reportedly held their ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, on Sept. 27.

When Gomez shared she was engaged to producer Benny Blanco in December 2024, Swift came running to the comments section. "Yes I will be the flower girl," she gushed.

Speaking on SiriusXM's "Morning Mash Up" on Oct. 6, Swift said Gomez "was the most beautiful bride" at her wedding. "Just so happy, and she deserves it so much," the singer added.

From Jonas Brothers to lifelong sisters

Swift and Gomez forged a friendship in the late 2000s. Gomez told podcaster Jake Shane on the Aug. 7 episode of the "Therapuss" podcast: "Taylor and I dated the Jonas Brothers. I dated Nick and she dated Joe... We bonded over the breakup, as girls do."

Fans have christened their friendship with the portmanteau Taylena. The first official red carpet appearance between the besties was in September 2008 for the movie "Another Cinderella Story."

A year later, Gomez told Seventeen Magazine that the Eras Tour singer gives the best advice: "Every single problem I ever have is healable by Taylor Swift. If I ever have an issue, Taylor has gone through it, because she's older than me, and she gives the most thought-out answers."

Over the years, Gomez has joined Swift as a surprise guest on three of the singer's world tours, starting in 2011 when the duo sang "Who Says" on the "Speak Now World Tour." They followed up with "Good For You" on the "1989 World Tour" in 2015, and "Can't Keep My Hands to Myself" on the "Reputation Stadium Tour."

During the "1989" era, Gomez appeared in Swift’s star-studded "Bad Blood" music video as Arsyn, a villain who betrays Swift’s character, Catastrophe. When Swift won the 2015 Grammy for album of the year, cameras captured Gomez tearing up in the audience, her pride unmistakable.

A friendship built on loyalty

In January of 2020, Swift told the Wall Street Journal in a Selena Gomez profile: "There has always been this quality of sisterhood, and I don’t say that in a basic way... I knew from when I met her I would always have her back. In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don’t know if I can forgive someone who hurts her."

In 2024, Gomez danced from the Eras Tour VIP tent in Arlington, Texas. Her sister Gracie was crowned with the coveted "22 hat" on night two. Swift, in turn, has been a consistent source of support, even baking her famous "It's a loaf story" sourdough bread for Gomez and Blanco.

With both women engaged at the same time and Swift attending Gomez's wedding, the symmetry feels poetic: a friendship that began with teenage heartbreaks has endured long enough for both to step into their own love stories.
