A Florence man has been charged with second degree domestic violence after a nearly 12 hour standoff with local law enforcement over the weekend.
According to reports , Andre Dupree Foster, 51, was observed with a knife and firearm, trying to kill his wife on Saturday evening. A concerned caller at the scene notified the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office of the incident and deputies quickly responded.
After arriving at the residence on Westmead Lane, authorities worked to communicate with Foster and his wife. When contact was made, Foster declined to open the door and instead spoke with law enforcement through it, claiming he was suicidal and that he would not voluntarily leave the home.
