As rosters are finalized for the 2025-26 season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have made two additions to their roster. The Maple Leafs have acquired goaltender Cayden Primeau and forward Sammy Blais via waivers.

Leafs Acquire Players

The Leafs claimed both players off waivers from the Montreal Canadiens. Neither play can be sent to the American Hockey League without having to be put through waivers again. As a result, it is likely both will be on the team's Opening Night roster.

Blais's Story

Blais is on a $775,000 contract that he signed with the Habs over the summer.

Going to a new team carries some good news for Blais, who reunites with head coach Craig Berube in Toronto. Blais played for Berube with the St. Louis Blues from 2019 until his trade in the summer of 2021. In the Blues' run
