AUGUSTA, Maine (WMTW) - Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows spoke about the security of Maine’s absentee voting process after a Newburgh woman claimed she found hundreds of ballots in an Amazon package she received last week.

The Newburgh woman told our media partners WMTW that the package appeared to already have been opened and retaped. Inside, she found all the items she ordered along with the bundled, blank ballots for the Nov. 4 general election. According to the woman, she immediately called the town office and handed the ballots over.
