The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce is asking businesses to complete a survey regarding the impact of social problems and security threats on their bottom lines and the comfort level of their customers.

“Over the past few months, we have heard from many of you about escalating issues with safety, cleanliness and crime in and around your businesses,” the chamber states in a message to members. “We are deeply concerned about the daily reality facing our downtown and other commercial areas.”

Chamber leadership met recently with Mayor Paul Lefebvre and police chief Sara Cunningham to call for urgent action, the message notes.
