COLUMBIA, S.C. — Dreher High School art teacher Katie Pfrommer has been named the 2025 South Carolina Art Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Art Education Association (SCAEA) — one of the highest honors an art educator can receive in the state.
The annual award recognizes a K–12 art teacher who has demonstrated excellence in teaching, program development, and advocacy for the arts. Nominees must be active members of SCAEA for at least three consecutive years.
Pfrommer, known for her creativity, student engagement, and passion for the visual arts, said the award is both humbling and rewarding.
Said Pfommer “I am honored and overwhelmed to be named the SCAEA Art Educator of the Year,” Pfrommer said. “Teaching art is my passion. To be recognized for something I care so deeply about
