Conservatives set out plans to slash public spending by £47bn

Shadow ministers used their speeches at the Conservative conference to attack Nigel Farage and Reform UK for being left wing, angry keyboard warriors.

But a poll has revealed that two-thirds of Tory members would actually like to have an electoral pact with them.

Unveiling proposals for almost £50 billion of spending cuts, Shadow Chancellor Sir Mel Stride argued that the Conservatives were now the only fiscally responsible party.
