CHINO HILLS, CA — While other churches featured topical sermons related to Father's Day, the pastor at Reformed Associate Presbyterian Assembly Church chose to just preach the same passage he was going to preach anyway, just as he does every Sunday.
"Today I will be preaching our 573rd sermon on our series in Romans," said Pastor Duncan James to his congregation. "Please, open your Bibles to Romans chapter 1."
"Oh yeah, and Happy Father's Day," he added.
James defended his choice of sermon, saying he had planned it in advance thirty years ago, and that God had it planned in advance before the foundations of the Earth. "I see little reason to change our in-depth study through Romans just because it happened to coincide with the Father's Day holiday," he said. "At Reformed Associate Presb
