RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The former Raleigh Police officer who was arrested and charged with sex crimes late last week appeared before a Wake County judge Monday afternoon. Tremale Cogdale , 28, is facing up to 88 months in prison if found guilty of the charges he is facing.
Friday, Cogdale was terminated from Raleigh Police after he allegedly engaged in sex acts while on duty following a traffic stop, in which arrest warrants state he should have cited and arrested a woman for DWI during a September 12 traffic stop where she hit a parked car. Instead, the warrant alleges that then-officer Cogdell took the woman back to his apartment and engaged in sexual activity.
