MONT BELVIEU, Texas — Mont Belvieu firefighters responded to a plant explosion and fire late Monday morning.

The blast happened around 11 a.m. at the ONEOK MBC Maintenance plant on SH 146 near SH 99 in Chambers County, northeast of Houston.

Three workers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to a city spokesman. All other workers have been accounted for, according to the City of Mont Belvieu.

Firefighters brought the fire under control, but video from AIR 11 shows extensive damage.

The fire department said the blast could be heard around Mont Belvieu.

"Yes sir, that was a big boom. Shook my office," a KHOU 11 Facebook follower said.

A resident said she didn't hear it but the force of the explosion shook her house.
