BROOK PARK, Ohio -- A new recruit is joining the ranks of the Brook Park Police Department, bringing energy, focus and a powerful nose for the job.

With boundless enthusiasm and sharp instincts, K-9 Murph is preparing to hit the streets alongside his handler, Patrolman Michael Light.

Meet Murph, a 17-month-old Belgian Malinois whose drive and determination have made him a standout in training.

Light, a lifelong Brook Park resident, said bringing Murph to the department was years in the making and the result of a shared commitment to strengthening public safety.

“Murph was in the works for a long time, since it takes a while to get enough funding for a K-9 because they are expensive,” Light said.
