AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Facing a staffing shortage, the Salvation Army of Augusta is urgently seeking volunteers and meal donations to keep its Center of Hope soup kitchen running.

The soup kitchen serves nearly 200 meals each day to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or financial hardship.

Act soon to apply for Angel Tree program in Aiken, Augusta

The application period wrapped up for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program in Aiken County, but it’s just now starting in Augusta.

The soup kitchen, which is staffed by a small team of employees and supported by volunteers, is currently short-staffed and urgently needs additional help, the Salvation Army said.
