CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - Traffic signal changes are coming to Clinton to help reduce delays and improve traffic flow, city leaders say.
After a detailed engineering study, the City of Clinton will be removing traffic signals at the following intersections on Dec. 18 at the following locations:
South 2nd Street and 3rd Avenue South
South 2nd Street and 4th Avenue South
South 2nd Street and 7th Avenue South
These signals are no longer needed under current traffic conditions and federal guidelines, city leaders said. New stop signs will be installed as follows:
3rd and 4th Avenue South - Two-way stop
7th Avenue South - Four-way stop
Signals are now flashing red to help drivers adjust, city leaders said. Permanent stop signs will be in place before removal. The decision has been approved
