The brother of Gov. Kevin Stitt had asked the U.S. Supreme Court to use his challenge of a $250 speeding ticket to further address whether states can prosecute Native Americans in "Indian country."

"The urgent need for resolution is pressing and undeniable," his attorney, Brett Chapman, told justices in a petition. "Indians face constitutionally infirm state prosecutions daily."
