Surrey First councillor — and mayoral hopeful — Linda Annis has announced her first four council candidates that will run alongside her in next year’s municipal election.

Annis’ fellow campaigners include retired journalist Janet Brown, Whalley Little League President Clint Stewart, construction executive Taj Sandhu, and autism advocate Deb Antifaev.

“We’re running a full slate of candidates and building a team that will be ready to hit the ground running,” Annis said in a press release on Monday.

If elected as mayor, Annis is vowing to push for a light rail system, scrap the city’s proposed 10,000-seat arena, and put an end to what she calls the stalling of the police transition.
