The NHL season hasn’t started, but the Vancouver Canucks believe they’ve already won something of significance.

Attitude is everything, no matter the profession, and they’re abiding by the ’10-90 rule’. It’s 10 per cent what occurs negatively and 90 per cent how you react with resolve to right the wrongs. Command respect by being part of the solution and not part of the problem.

From off-season optimism, training camp progress and pre-season presence, the noticeable vibe of belief and brotherhood was in stark contrast to the doom and gloom that enveloped the non-playoff club last season. All those injuries, and constant drama between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller , drove a wedge in the room and on the ice. But why does that now seem like so long ago?
