After playing in four preseason games with the New York Rangers, veteran forward Conor Sheary agreed to a one-year contract with the team on Monday.

Sheary, 33, tallied three points (one goal, two assists) while averaging 16:05 of ice time while on a professional tryout. A 10-year NHL veteran, the Winchester, Mass., native signed as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 1, 2015.

Sheary has 267 points (124 goals, 143 assists) over 593 games with the Penguins (2015-18, 2020), Buffalo Sabres (2018-20), Washington Capitals (2020-23) and Tampa Bay Lightning (2023-25).

In 72 playoff games, the 5-foot-8, 182-pound Sheary has 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) and won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh (2016, 2017).
