A coastal flood advisory remains in effect for parts of Northeast Florida through early Wednesday morning, with officials monitoring beach conditions and implementing restrictions across multiple counties.
Minor flooding was possible near the Trout River and South Central Duval Counties, while a more severe coastal flood warning has been issued for Eastern Clay, Eastern Putnam and Western St. Johns Counties.
At Vilano Beach in St. Johns County, conditions had improved from last week, though officials continued to monitor the situation.
County officials conducted assessments along the beachline to determine the extent of sand loss and potential coastal erosion. In response to current conditions, St. Johns County has closed its beaches to vehicular traffic during high tide periods.
