LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Mayor Craig Greenberg, D-Louisville, and the staff for the Office of Violence Prevention unveiled new positive data for the city.
“When people think about data technology and innovation, they might not be thinking about local government,” Greenberg said. “But in my administration, we’re changing that. We’re finding ways to use technology and data to help guide great decisions.”
Those decisions have led to the creation of the “Pivot to Peace” intervention model, a partnership between the OVP, Goodwill and Volunteers of America.
Early returns from a three-year report from the OVP show the Russell, Taylor Berry, Algonquin and Newburg neighborhoods have seen a 60% decline in gun violence.
