Tulsa County Commissioner Kelly Dunkerley says the county continues to play a vital role in addressing homelessness while investing in quality-of-life improvements across District 3.

County’s Role in Addressing Homelessness

Dunkerley said Tulsa County’s focus has long been on supporting families in crisis through its family shelter, which also provides medical services and prescriptions to those in need.

“The county’s been operating a family shelter for several decades,” Dunkerley said. “When families are on hard times, when there are children involved and they need a safe space, that’s what we have.”

He said the county welcomes collaboration with state and city agencies, including the recent Operation SAFE initiative led by the state.
