A routine traffic stop for speeding on a motorcycle in Fresno uncovered more than officers expected, authorities said Monday.
California Highway Patrol officers said the rider had an outstanding warrant out of Lancaster for auto theft.
During the stop, officers also found a loaded, concealed, and unregistered firearm hidden in the motorcycle’s saddlebag.
“Keeping our communities safe and weapons out of the hands of criminals is one of our everyday priorities,” CHP said in a statement.
The rider was taken into custody, and the firearm was confiscated.
No further details about the suspect’s identity or charges were immediately released.
