MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is being requested to investigate an officer involved shooting in Tipton County, according to the Tipton County sheriff.

Sheriff Shannon Beasley said deputies, EMS and Tipton County Fire Dept. are on the scene of an officer involved shooting in the 7000 block of Richardson Landing Road.

The sheriff said District Attorney Mark Davidson has requested the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to investigate the scene, as protocol. The scene is secure, and there is no threat to residents.
