EL DORADO, Kan. (KSNW) -- A Butler County deputy suffered minor injuries while responding to an emergency call early Monday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says it happened around 4:30 a.m. on the southwest side of El Dorado Lake. The 25-year-old deputy was heading northeast on NE Shady Creek Access Road with her lights and siren active when the Dodge Durango left the road on the north side.
The patrol vehicle struck the west embankment at Boulder Bluff Road next to the Walnut River Athletic Complex, went airborne, and landed in the field on the northeast corner of the intersection. Troopers say the SUV rolled an unknown number of times before it came to a rest in the field.
The deputy was taken to an El Dorado hospital with minor injuries.
