INDIANAPOLIS — Metro police are investigating a shooting that left one person critically wounded on the east side of Indianapolis Monday evening.

Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 5700 block of East Washington Street , near Audubon Road, around 7:30 p.m. Police arrived to find one person who had apparently been shot.

The victim is said to be in critical condition.

An IMPD spokesperson said one person was detained at the scene in connection to the shooting. It is not known if that person is the suspect in the shooting, police said.
