GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay bar that once served as a safe haven for Black Packers players during the 1960s and 1970s is getting a well-deserved spotlight.

My Brother’s Place, a cocktail bar known for its welcoming atmosphere during a time of racial tension, is being honored through a new multi-episode documentary-style series. The series is being produced by the sons of the bar’s original owner.

Packers Hall of Famer Dave Robinson spoke with Local 5 News about what the establishment meant to players like him.

“They didn’t invite us in there,” Robinson said. “When we came in there, we didn’t have any worries. They treated us like any other customer that came in.”

The original My Brother’s Place was located at the site of what is now Tequila’s on Main Street in Green Bay. Filmi
