In a recent column I took issue with the plan by City Hall to redo the waterfront from the Canal District to the Bushplane Museum, the first phase of which will carry a price tag of $17 million and include a swimming pool in the St. Marys River.

Matt Fronzi, obviously sharing my disdain for the project, in a post on Facebook attacked the project from a different angle.

Where I went at it from a cost perspective in regard to the money that was being spent on so many other projects that were already straining taxpayers’ pocketbooks, he concentrated on what that $17 million could do for social services.

Not being sure as to how many people would see his post, I thought it worthwhile to pass on a portion of what he said to readers of this column, to widen his exposure even a little bit.
