The United States has experienced a dramatic drop in tourism in 2025, losing many of its big-spending visitors to other tourist destinations instead, including Canada . International visitation is down by around 8.2%, according to research by Tourism Economics, and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) forecasts international visitor spending to fall to just under $169 billion this year, down from $181 billion in 2024 and totaling a $12.5 billion loss.
