Australians have warned each other to plan ahead for school holiday trips, after huge queues wound through a popular Gold Coast theme park.

Vision posted over the Labour Day long weekend – observed in New South Wales, the ACT and South Australia – showed hundreds of visitors queuing for Sea World on the Gold Coast.

The huge queues amassed just after opening time about 10am, as lines for exhibitions extended past the opening gates.

“Wrong time to visit the Gold Coast,” the Sydneysider warned in her caption.

Jana Sbat later told news.com.au it took about “40 minutes” to enter the park.

“I arrived at 10am and the rides were very busy,” she said.

Tourists flocked to the Sunshine State to spend the long weekend ending the state’s school holidays.
