PARMA, Ohio -- The city has unveiled the official logo for its upcoming 2026 bicentennial celebration, and it prominently features the flamingo that has become the city’s unofficial mascot.
The logo will brand the various activities and events planned throughout next year to commemorate the city’s 200th anniversary.
“We are planning many activities and events next year to celebrate our bicentennial with residents throughout the year, and we wanted a way to brand this milestone,” Mayor Tim Degeeter said in an email.
The logo was designed by Jackie Baraona, a longtime Parma resident and former president of Young Professionals of Parma.
Baraona -- a graphic designer by trade -- designed the logo for free as a way to give back, she said.
