ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The namesake waterfowl have returned to a popular spot on teh UNM campus. News 13 spotted some ducks hanging out at the renovated duck pond.
The area was closed and the water drained last year so that crews could build a new bridge, install a new pond liner, and install a UV system to kill harmful algae and microorganisms. During the work, the ducks, fish, and turtles that normally live there were moved to UNM's Championship Golf Course.
But now that the pond is open again, the wildlife has returned.
