Chennai: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting heavy rainfall in six districts of Tamil Nadu today, October 7, 2025. The districts of Nilgiris, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, and Namakkal are likely to experience heavy downpours at one or two places. This is part of a continuing wet spell that has seen widespread rainfall across the state for the past week, with showers reported in Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Karur, and Trichy as recently as yesterday.
