EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On Monday, East Lansing residents voiced their concerns to the city’s transportation commission, demanding action to make their streets safer.

The commission looked to approve stop signs at several East Lansing neighborhood intersections, areas where residents say reckless driving has been an issue.

“When I have my kids and we’re walking on this street here. What we’ve got is traffic that doesn’t stop for us. The yield signs are completely ineffective. Then you have traffic here that can go as fast as it wants,” one resident said.

East Lansing neighbors appear united.

“Since 2014 at least four vehicles have driven onto my front lawn where my kids play,” another said.
