HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The 2025 Native Hawaiian Convention is on the road in the Pacific Northwest.
Some 1,300 Native Hawaiians and activists from 37 different states are set to attend the event at the Native American-run Tulalip Resort Casino, location about an hour north from Downtown Seattle.
While the official opening ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, the cultural immersion program began for some participants in Honolulu.
For the first time, the Hawaiian Council, formerly known as the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, chartered a flight from Honolulu to Seattle. Na Lei Aloha musicians & dancers kept the group entertained while Mele Apana, Kumu Hina, and other prominent community members served as honorary flight attendants.
