Trevor Lawrence ran for two touchdowns – including the game-winner with :23 remaining – and threw for another as the Jaguars overcame a 14-point first-half deficit for a dramatic 31-28 victory over the three-time defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs in front of 69,329 at EverBank Stadium on Monday.
Lawrence's one-yard run on a play on which he had been stepped on and fell gave the Jaguars the lead, capping a seven-play, 60-yard drive.
Lawrence completed passes of 33 yards to wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and 13 yards to wide receiver Dyami Brown to key the drive, with a pass interference penalty giving the Jaguars a first-and-goal at the one on the play before Lawrence's touchdown.
