TYLER, Texas — Families from across East Texas gathered Sunday to celebrate culture, community and tradition at Carnita Azada Fest at La Fe Disco in Tyler.
La Fe Disco or Country River Club hosts events throughout the year bringing East Texans together to enjoy live music. Sunday's event was no different but with the addition of a jaripeo, a Mexican style rodeo, and several food vendors.
According to Carlos Sanchez, the event promoter, the event was months in the making but worth all the stress to see families together having a great time.
"It's something you can spend the weekend with your kids, your husband, or your wife," Sanchez said. "It's something family-oriented that's rarely seen here in East Texas."
Sanchez, who has been promoting events at La Fe for about a decade, says besi
