The federal opposition has called on the government and the federal police to confirm where the cohort of repatriated ISIS brides are now and if they are being investigated over “serious criminal offences”.
Two women and four children have returned to Australia after living in territory controlled by the Islamic State, but the government has so far refused to provide the public any further details about its involvement in the repatriation or the current status of the ISIS brides.
Under the Criminal Code, it is an offence to intentionally enter or remain in a declared area of a foreign country where a terrorist organisation is engaging in hostile activity.
Neither the two Australian women or their children who returned around September-October 2025 have been charged, and no investigati
