JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Trinity Christian Academy head football coach Verlon Dorminey is normally a big Jaguars fan, but for one night only…he’s putting the teal and gold away.
“It's gonna be hard, I mean, but you know what? I, I can't let my boy down," said Dorminey.
That's because his former player Chamarri Conner is returning to Jacksonville to play against the Jags in the Monday Night Football game.
Coach Dorminey has had a lot of players over the years, some who make it to play in college, and even some who make it to the pros, but he says Conner was always special.
“He's just one of them kids that you just enjoy coaching,” said Dorminey. “He just came to practice with a smile every day and just played the game like it's supposed to be played”
