After a 28-year-old student was killed in Texas on Friday night, a 23-year-old man, identified as Richard Florez, was arrested.

The 23-year-old Indian student was shot dead at a Fort Worth gas station on Friday night, leaving the local Indian-American community shocked and fearful.

The suspect allegedly shot the 28-year-old while he was working a part-time shift, then fled the scene before being apprehended by officers, police said.

The suspect, identified as Richard Florez of North Richland Hills, allegedly shot Chandrashekar Pole at a gas station on Eastchase Parkway, police said. Following the shooting, Florez reportedly fired at another vehicle about a mile away but did not injure anyone.
