BAY VILLAGE, Ohio -- Bay Village City Schools has experienced a notable reduction in federal education funding for the current fiscal year, despite recovering from a temporary freeze that affected districts nationwide over the summer.
At the Board of Education’s Sept. 22 Federal Programs Annual Meeting, Assistant Superintendent Robert Hoon reported that the district’s Title I allocation has dropped to $62,354 for fiscal year 2026.
That is down significantly from just under $74,000 the previous year.
“We had a decrease in some of our resources, with Title 1-Part A being the most significant, at a 15 percent decrease,” Hoon explained to school board members.
The funding freeze, which affected federal education programs across the country, was resolved when Ohio responded accordingly in J
