Pelicans cut ties with 2 lanky forwards

The New Orleans Pelicans shook up their roster on Monday.

Two players on the fringes have been cut.

Those two guys: Jalen McDaniels and Garrison Brooks.

McDaniels is the older brother of Minnesota Timberwolves star Jaden McDaniels.

This McDaniels has played three-plus seasons at the NBA level for the Charlotte Hornets . He has also seen NBA minutes for the 76ers, Raptors and Wizards.

McDaniels has career NBA regular season averages of 6.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

That's the more proven commodity here, if you can call it that.

Brooks was an undrafted player out of Mississippi State in 2022.
