SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) - Authorities responded to a helicopter crash Monday night on Highway 50 in Sacramento, California.

The crash, which appears to have involved a medical helicopter, was reported just after 7 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs.

The Sacramento Fire Department said three people – a pilot, a nurse and a paramedic – were in critical condition following the crash. There was no patient on board the helicopter at the time.

Firefighters said one person was trapped under the helicopter after the crash. A group of around 15 bystanders rushed in to help first responders free the victim.

No other vehicles were hit by the helicopter or involved in the crash, officials said.
