This Saturday was packed full of activities in Ludington with not only Lumber Days going on, but also St. Simon’s Apple Fest, and surely there were a few hungry lumberjacks roaming around town who had their sweet tooth satisfied with some apple dumplings.

The apple dumplings, apple squares and apple crisps sold at St. Simon’s annual festival, the main fundraiser for the parish, are truly a labor of love, with volunteers spending two weeks preparing the delicious recipes.

The ladies selling raffle tickets said there was a great turnout throughout the day.

Every corner or the hall was packed with great items for people to purchase, whether fall decor, bake sale items, jams, jewelry, homemade rosaries, baskets and other goods for auction and more.
