: A bizarre complaint in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district has left officials surprised after a man alleged that his wife “turns into a snake at night” and tries to bite him.

The incident came to light during Samadhan Diwas (Public Grievance Day) in the Mahmoodabad area, when residents usually raise issues related to civic amenities. Meraj, a resident of Lodhsa village, appeared before the District Magistrate claiming that his wife, Naseemun, transforms into a serpent at night and attempts to attack him.

He alleged that his wife had tried to kill him multiple times and had once bitten him. “My wife tortures me mentally and could kill me any night while I’m asleep,” Meraj reportedly said, adding that she often chases him around the house “after turning into a serpent.”
