A woman was found fatally shot on Minnesota Avenue NE on Sunday in what appeared to be the third homicide in the District in three days, a seeming uptick in killings after weeks of substantial decline.

In a separate incident that also appeared to reflect on the question of safety in the city, three youths carjacked a moped Saturday afternoon on a busy street on Capitol Hill. One of the youths had a gun, according a police report.
