The Weirton and Wellsburg Kiwanis clubs had its installation of officers Sept. 30 at the Holiday Inn in Weirton. Eric Fithyan and Ernie Nicholas will serve another year as presidents of the Wellsburg and Weirton clubs, respectively. Re-elected were Miki Marino, secretary and treasurer of the Weirton Kiwanis Club; Tiffany Gale, secretary of the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club; and Joey Baker-Soly, treasurer of the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club. Lt. Gov. Steve Bentz of Division 18 presided over the installations.The Legion of Honor went to Duke Horstmeyer for 45 years of service with the Weirton Kiwanis Club, presented by Mary Kay Olashuk, Capital District trustee of the West Virginia region. Both clubs reported having a good 2024-25 year and are hopful the same occurs throughout 2025-26 Kiwanis year.
