GURGAON: In a joint late-night operation by Gurgaon Crime Branch Sector 43 and Delhi Police ’s Special Staff, a wanted criminal from Nepal, Bhim Mahabahadur Jora, was killed in an encounter at Astha Kunj Park, Delhi, late Monday night. The 30-year-old was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh and was wanted in several crimes including murder, dacoity, and a recent Rs 20 lakh burglary in Gurgaon at the house of a BJP functionary. According to police, the operation was led by Inspector Narendra Sharma of Sector 43 Crime Branch. Crime branch here received a tip-off late Monday that Bhim Jora was spotted at Astha Kunj Park, near Nehru Place, along with an associate. As the teams converged on the location, Jora, spotting the police, opened indiscriminate fire in an attempt to escape.
